from~ boston herald: What really went down behind closed doors between Randy Moss and the Sunshine State sweetheart who said he hurt and degraded her may always be gossiped about, but it won’t be bared in open court.
Rachelle Washington, 35, of Fort Lauderdale last week dropped her restraining order against the Patriots [team stats]’ All-Pro wide receiver less than a month before she and Moss, 31, were to publicly square off before a Broward County Domestic Abuse Court judge.
Washington reportedly backed off the NFL superstar March 3, the same day it was announced he had signed a three-year deal with the Pats worth $27 million.
Patriots spokesman Stacey James did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Washington, who has known Moss since his school days at Marshall University in West Virginia, has agreed to settle her claim of an injured finger through Moss’ insurance company.
What Moss’ defense team characterized as “consensual horseplay” occurred during his Jan. 6 visit to Washington’s rented condominium. However, she waited another week before seeking court intervention.
Washington said in court papers she’d been subjected to “reckless and degrading conduct” by Moss, with whom she’d had “an intimate relationship” since 1997. Washington’s neighbors told the Herald she’d never so much as mentioned knowing Moss.
Washington’s California attorney Darrell Thompson said the restraining order was filed on the advice of her ex-lawyer, but, “She has decided that such restraining order is unnecessary and has requested the order be dismissed.
In January, Moss denied hitting Washington and accused her of trying to extort him. Washington had a history of being hauled into court for non-payment of rent.
Moss said when their dirty laundry finally came clean in court, “Everybody’s going to laugh.”
Sharpstein declined to say if the prickly pair are planning to reunite.
